US FWS and the Friends are sponsoring Wander Wild at Pinckney! to celebrate refuge Week 2014. This will be a full day of activities on Pinckney Island NWR on Saturday, October 11, 2014.
Activities include nature hikes, birding hikes, photo workshops, wagon rides, a camp fire, live reptile exhibits, and more. As a special treat we will be joined once again by Joe Wiegand, our very favorite Theodore Roosevelt re-enactor who will present two of his captivating programs.
Auto access to Pinckney is usually restricted, but for this event you may drive into and park in the refuge. Parking spaces are limited, and the gates will be closed early if maximum capacity is reached. Pease consider car-pooling. Internal gates will be open from 8 AM until 2 PM.
The Friends will be providing free hot dogs and drinks while they last, or you are invited to bring your own picnic lunch.
