You are cordially invited to join Friends of the Savannah Coastal Wildlife Refuges in celebration of National Wildlife Refuge Week on Sunday, October 11, 2015, from 6PM –8PM at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on Skidaway Island at 3 West Ridge Rd, Savannah, GA 31411 .
Our Guest of Honor will be Joe Wiegand, the country’s foremost Theodore Roosevelt re-enactor.
Joe will give a rousing performance as our 26th President that is entertaining, educational, and inspirational. He has delighted audiences around the nation, including a performance at the White House.
There will also be a brief presentation about the Friends and about the Kingfisher Pond Discovery Center Project, our campaign to build an environmental education classroom at Kingfisher Pond Recreation area on Savannah National Wildlife Refuge. So far we have raised $58,300 of the projected $350,000 needed to complete the project.
A minimum donation of $20 per adult is suggested, $18 for Friends members in good standing. All donations will go to the Kingfisher Pond Discovery Center Project. Your donation entitles you to a seat at the TR presentation, and a one-year individual membership in the Friends. Suggested donation for children 10 and under is $5 per child.
Doorprizes will also be awarded.
