  • First Presbyterian Church, 520 E. Washington Ave. Savannah

On Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 7:00 p.m., Refuge Ranger Peter Range (F&WS Savannah Coastal Refuges Complex) will present a program about bird banding at the Ogeechee Audubon meeting in the First Presbyterian Church, 520 E. Washington St., Savannah GA.

Peter is Refuge Manager of Wassaw Island NWR and is an expert birder and master bander who has been banding birds for several decades.  He maintains a banding station during the summer on the refuge where he bands Painted Buntings as part of a long-term study of this declining species.  Peter will explain the purpose of banding, how it’s done, and what information we have learned from banding programs.

His talk is sponsored by Ogeechee Audubon Society, but is open to all at no charge.

Friends group members are encouraged to attend.
