Bird Walk at Savannah NWR

  • Saturday, May 11, 2013
  • 7:00 AM
  • Laurel Hill Wildlife Drive, Savannah NWR

May 11 is International Migratory Bird Day and Ogeechee Audubon will be conducting a bird walk and survey at Savannah NWR.

Meet leader Dot Bambach at 7:00 a.m. at the entrance to Laurel Hill Wildlife Drive.  Expect to walk between 1/2 and 1 mile.

Bring binoculars, sun and insect protection, water, and snacks/lunch.  A spotting scope will come in handy as some of the impoundments have been drawn down and are attracting a nice assortment of shorebirds.

This event is free and open to the public.  The walk will go as scheduled in light rain but will cancel in a downpour or thunderstorms.

For more information, contact Dot Bambach at dotbam@bellsouth.net or 912-598-3764.

(Note:  This event is sponsored by Ogeechee Audubon and is posted here as a service to those of you with an interest in birding.)
